# Step 2 - Install Theme

Purpose: place the required parent templates on WordPress. Prerequisites: installed WordPress, administrator access, and the identified parent ZIP.

There are two ways to install the **Seyarat** WordPress theme: using the built-in WordPress theme installer or uploading the theme via FTP.

After downloading the theme package from ThemeForest, unzip the downloaded file. Inside, you will find `seyarat.zip`, which is the main theme file required for installation.

You can then install Seyarat using either the **WordPress Theme Installer** or **FTP**.

If you plan to customize the theme, we recommend installing both the **parent theme** and the **child theme**, then activating the child theme. A child theme lets you safely make customizations without modifying the original theme files.

### 1. Install via WordPress Dashboard <a href="#id-1.-install-via-wordpress-dashboard" id="id-1.-install-via-wordpress-dashboard"></a>

**Step 1** - Sign in to the **Dashboard** and select **Appearance** → **Themes**.

**Step 2** - Click **Add New Theme**, then **Upload Theme**.

**Step 3 -** Click **Choose File** and select the theme file you downloaded.\
If you downloaded the **Installable WordPress File**, you can upload it directly without extracting it.\
If you downloaded the **Full Theme Package**, unzip the main package first. Inside, you will find the `seyarat.zip` file. Select this file to install the **Seyarat** theme.

**Step 4** - Click the **Install Now** button.

**Step 5** – Once the upload and installation are complete, click **Activate**, or go to **Appearance > Themes** and activate the **Seyarat** theme.

### 2. Install via FTP <a href="#install-via-ftp" id="install-via-ftp"></a>

If you encounter any issues installing the theme using the WordPress installer, we recommend using FTP instead.

**Step 1** – If you downloaded the **Full Theme Package** from ThemeForest, unzip the package to locate the `seyarat.zip` file. Then extract `seyarat.zip` to get the `seyarat` theme folder.

**Step 2** – Use an FTP client such as [FileZilla](http://filezilla-project.org/) to upload the extracted `seyarat` folder to the `wp-content/themes/` directory on your server.

**Step 3** – Log in to your WordPress Dashboard, go to **Appearance > Themes**, find the **Seyarat** theme, and click **Activate**.

### 3. Troubleshooting

1. **"Are you sure you want to do this?" error**

   If you see the **“Are you sure you want to do this?”** message when installing `seyarat.zip` through WordPress, your hosting server may have a file upload size limit.

   In this case, you can install the **Seyarat** theme via FTP or contact your hosting provider and ask them to increase the PHP upload limit.
2. **"The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet" error**

   You may see the following message when uploading or installing the theme:

   **“The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.”**

   This usually happens when the wrong ZIP file is uploaded.

   ThemeForest provides two download options:

   * **Installable WordPress file only** – This file can be uploaded directly to WordPress.
   * **All files & documentation** – This is the full theme package. You need to extract it first and locate the `seyarat.zip` installable theme file inside.

   Make sure you upload only the correct `seyarat.zip` file when installing the theme through **Appearance > Themes > Add New**.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://seyarat.gitbook.io/seyarat-docs/installation/step-2-install-theme.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
